The beginnings are usually hard and for Marc Shaiman this was not any exception. What's Alan Watching is one of these pilot episodes that are produced to decide, on the basis of the reactions in the test screenings and "experimental" issues, if the project is finally produced or not. Unfortunately this episode of an hour of running time did not please the sufficient thing and the show was cancelled.
Directed by Thomas Schlamme, a whole specialist in tv series, as well as the director of the best Mike Myers comedy (So I Married with an Axe Murderer), the thing was fastly forgotten and it turns out really impossible to get access to the episode (almost in Spain) and so, its impossible to access to the only known way to listen to the music that the composer designed for this occasion.
